Rock 101

Hey fellow "axe-wielders"! Check out the links I've listed below. I've provided a description of each site so you know what to expect before you get there. If you have some really nice music related sites that are better or equal, please e-mail the link to me at my school email address.

*By clicking on any of these links below, you are agreeing that you are now leaving the Edythe J. Hayes website and the following page is in no way affiliated with Edythe J. Hayes Middle School or Fayette County Public Schools.

Fender Players' Club- This site has it all! Lessons from beginners to experienced players, some good songs tabbed out AND many feature audio clips so you can hear what each piece should sound like.

E-Chord Tablature Database- E-Chord is a great place to search for tablature of a variety of songs. You can browse the features, but to get full access, you have to pay. The great thing about tabs at E-Chord is that the rolling over a chord icon will open a diagram showing where to play that chord.

Chord House- This site is great because you can select any chord and its variation and the site will diagram the chord for you. It will then play each note in the chord and then strum the entire chord. Very good for beginners. More advanced players might want to look at the database of scales the site has.

All PowerTabs Website: This is a great site to get tabs. Download the editor on the right side of their webpage. You can then search for tabs on the site that can be imported into the program. The PowerTabs Editor will play the tabs for you. There is a Mac version as well, it seems.

ChordBook: This one is pretty slick as well. It has a chord dictionary, scale dictionary and audio files you can jam to.

Rock 101 would like to thank Phil Block and The Castle for generously donating a bass guitar and amplifier to our club. We would also like to thank Jolene and Michael Neu for donating a 5-piece drum set to the group. Both instruments were badly needed and without them our group would have been seriously limited. Thanks again!!
